How to Clean Indoor Plants with MamaSuds
MamaSuds offers a natural, eco-friendly way to clean your indoor plants - and it's pretty simple. Here's how it works: Use MamaSuds All-Purpose Spray to mist your plant, and watch the dirt and grime disappear with each wipe. Plus, this solution is safe for both you and your plants! So if you're looking for an easy way to keep your plants clean and healthy, MamaSuds is the way to go.
Gather your supplies - you'll need some MamaSuds soap of your choice, and a cloth
Look in your closet, under the sink, or wherever you hide all the MamaSuds products that make cleaning easy: it's time to grab your supplies so you can get cleaning! Grab a spray bottle, your favorite MamaSuds Castile Soap (or our ready-to-use MamaSuds All-Purpose Cleaner), and don't forget to bring along a cloth. A cloth helps spread out that MamaSuds love so that every corner is getting some special attention while you're cleaning. Then just sit back and admire your hard work and all the effort you've put into getting those surfaces shiny and spectacular!
Spray your plants with the cleaner, but don't go crazy
Although it seems reasonable to assume that spray-cleaning your plants would help keep them in tip-top shape, don't be tempted to go too crazy with it. Overdoing it can damage the delicate leaves and deter their growth. Using a bit of moderation is always helpful when you spray the cleaner - think of it as the golden rule and your plants will thank you for it!
Wipe down each leaf with the cloth until it's shining
Cleaning your plants may not be the most glamorous job, but it's certainly one that must be done. Just think of all the dust and dirt particles stuck in the leaves that you can easily remove with a simple wipe of a cloth! And imagine the satisfaction of seeing each leaf shine after your hard work pays off. Give yourself a pat on the back as you put away your cleaning supplies and admire your beautifully polished green friends!
Repeat every few weeks to keep your plants looking their best!
Keeping your plants looking their best doesn't have to be a chore. All it takes is a few repeat visits every couple of weeks, and you'll find your green friends are the envy of the garden! Make sure to check for any dead leaves or flowers, provide them with some water, and give them each (oh, who am I kidding - talk to them!) a little bit of tender loving care. You'll love coming home to the sight of vibrant foliage!
Now that you know how to properly clean your houseplants, there's no excuse for having a dusty fern! Gather your supplies and get to work - your plants will thank you. And if you need any more motivation, just think of all the money you'll save by not having to buy new plants every few weeks. So what are you waiting for? Go grab a bottle of MamaSuds All-Purpose Cleaner and get cleaning!

Next up is what sets us apart from the pack. At MamaSuds, we’re all about transparency! That’s why our list of natural ingredients is anything but secret. Our organic all-purpose cleaner is a completely safe solution that smells like a dream. Keep your kids safe and your counters sparkling with our impressive cleaner.
Our Ingredients
As any mom can tell you, effective cleaning is all about the ingredients. We want the best for our families and know you do, too. That’s why we source pure oils and natural solvents for a family-friendly product. Here’s what you can expect to find in our all-purpose cleaner:
- Water
- MamaSuds original formula castile soap (potassium olivate)*
- Aloe vera gel, including non-GMO citric acid*
- Pure clove bud essential oil
- Pure organic cinnamon leaf essential oil
- Pure lemon essential oil
- Pure eucalyptus radiata essential oil
- Pure rosemary essential oil
*Aloe vera gel juice contains citric acid that may be derived from corn. Do not use if you are allergic to corn.
As you can see, there’s not a lot to it. Who knew perfection could be so simple? Really, we’ve found that using the best ingredients in balanced ratios is the secret to our success. Each ingredient offers its own unique benefits, like in the following essential oils.
Clove
Did you know that clove has anti-inflammatory properties? Besides its amazing scent, the clove plant is commonly used in cosmetics to fight inflammation. For example, one scientific study published in 2021 cited its ability to reduce inflammation by up to 20 percent over 3 hours. While cleaning products aren’t designed specifically for topical use, our all-purpose cleaner boasts several skin-friendly ingredients.
Lemon
Nothing is as clean as a sun-ripened lemon. Besides its fresh scent, lemon essential oil offers secondary skin benefits. For example, did you know the plant’s detoxifying properties are good for oily skin? How about its ability to boost the immune system? That’s right: lemons are as useful to the skin as they are fragrant in the home. Good thing we included lemon essential oil in our all-purpose cleaner for yet another benefit.
Rosemary
Rosemary is another ingredient known for its revitalizing scent. Just like lemon, you’re likely to find it in kitchen cabinets and cosmetics alike. We thought we’d take things to the next level by adding rosemary essential oil to our all-purpose cleaner for its invigorating fragrance. In fact, this multifaceted ingredient is often considered a tonic to refresh and restore the skin.
Cleaning Instructions
Have you ever wondered what all-purpose cleaner is good for? In short, it’s formulated to use on many household surfaces. Every brand and product is different, so your best bet is to read labels carefully. However, most all-purpose cleaners, including ours, are designed to handle routine cleaning on a variety of surfaces.
Stoves
While ovens often require specific cleaners and harsh chemicals, you’re free to use all-purpose cleaners on stovetops themselves. These surfaces are easier to clean based on better access and visibility. To clean, simply spray the surface and wipe it down using a microfiber cloth. Buff dry with a towel for a smooth, shiny finish.
Countertops
If your kitchen has tile or laminate countertops, it’s okay to use an all-purpose cleaner. (Ours is definitely safe, thanks to its natural ingredients!) Spray your surface and wipe it off using a soft, dry cloth. For excess grease or residue, spot clean using stronger or more concentrated cleaning products.
Showers
Has your shower seen better days? Stay up-to-date on weekly cleanings using an all-purpose cleaner. Spray all shower surfaces, including the corners and door, for complete coverage. Rinse off and squeegee as needed. Pro tip: use an all-purpose cleaner for regular cleaning and minimal residue.
Floors
Did you know you can use all-purpose cleaner to mop floors? Thanks to its castile soap base, this cleaner can be easily diluted for use on wood, tile, or linoleum floors. Start by running warm water and adding ½ cup of all-purpose cleaner. Mop your floors in the cleaning solution and let dry. Pro tip: add plenty of water. Floors aren’t rinsed after mopping, so try to avoid unnecessary residue.
Final Thoughts
All-purpose cleaner is true to its name with a million different uses. Use it in your kitchen, bathroom, or living room floor for completely natural cleaning. Now that you know what it does, what it contains, and how to use it, it’s time to try it on for size.

Proven Ways To Remove Mold In Your Home Without Bleach
47% of households in the USA have dampness or mold problems, according to the National Institute of Environmental Health Science. Mold in a home is a nuisance, due to its musty odor and unappealing appearance. Exposure to mold and damp environments may cause a variety of health problems, such as throat irritation, nasal stuffiness, coughing or wheezing and even skin irritation. Children are even more susceptible to mold-related infections. Chemical options to get rid of the mold, such as bleach are effective, but toxic when mixed with other household cleaning agents. Instead, opting for a safer option like a vegan handmade all-purpose cleaner for removing mold, is not only environmentally conscious but also gentle to your hands and non-toxic.
Nonetheless, you can clean mold using everyday products that are just as safe. Below are proven ways to get rid of mold in your home without bleach.
Tea tree oil
The ideal conditions for the growth of mold as a fungus include damp, poorly lit and poorly ventilated surfaces. Tea tree oil is a natural fungicide which makes it the ideal cleaning agent for areas infested with mold. Other medicinal benefits of tea tree oil prove that it is not only good for cleaning mold, but also as a safe household cleaner and for eczema - a mold-related allergy. This essentially means it is good for your skin or people with allergies and asthma. Cleaning mold using tea tree oil also leaves your home with a sweet medicinal fragrance. Spray a mixture of 10 drops of tea tree oil and water on the surface and wipe after it sits for a while.
Vinegar or vodka
Vinegar is a natural antimicrobial and antioxidant substance, whose acetic acid has a pH of 2.4. Such a pH level makes it ideal for cleaning mold, as a more acidic substance gets rid of a less acidic one. Vodka is also another common natural solution for getting rid of mold, though more alkaline than vinegar. Grabbing a cheap bottom shelf bottle works the best, making it less expensive. For either of the two, you want to pour them pure into a spray bottle, spritz over the mold surface, let it sit for a while and clean with a sponge. Spraying the surface after cleaning without wiping it off should permanently get rid of the mold problem. While at it, you should also learn a bit more about DIY cleaning with vinegar in your home.
The best way to permanently rid your house of mold is to identify the actual cause and curb its thriving conditions. Cleaning and drying those damp surfaces in the kitchen and bathroom, getting rid of stale foods, and getting a dehumidifier should prevent hyphae from spreading. If you already have mold, then a bottle of tea tree oil, vinegar or vodka should clean just fine.
